How to Install Webmin on CentOS

Webmin is a web-based control panel like cpanel which provides easy to use interface for managing Unix systems. It is used to manage services like User management, Disk managemet, Network, Iptables (Firewall ), Cron, Apache, DNS, File sharing and much more. Webmin is an great tool for managing multiple domains on a single server.

Log in Via SSH

Let’s login login to your server and install the optional dependencies on your server you wish to install Webmin.

 [root@localhost ~]# yum -y install perl perl-Net-SSLeay openssl perl-IO-Tty

Webmin RPM Install

To install Webmin using the RPM first download its RPM package from the official web page of Webmin Download
After downloading latest Webmin rpm, use following command to install or update it. Before installing Webmin import the PGP key.

Download GPG key for webmin

# cd /usr/local/src
# wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc
# wget  http://www.webmin.com/download/rpm/webmin-current.rpm

Import the PGP key.

# rpm --import jcameron-key.asc
# rpm -Uvh webmin-*.rpm

Now Access webmin control panel

After installing Webmin you can access it in browser using server_IP:10000 and login with username root and system root password.

http://server_IP:10000

(Make sure that :10000 port is allowed in your firewall )
