Today we will let you know, How to install (D)DoS Deflate scripts on linux server ? DoS Deflate is a lightweight bash shell script designed to assist in the process of blocking a denial of service attack. It utilizes the command below to create a list of IP addresses connected to the server, along with their total number of connections. It is one of the simplest and easiest to install solutions at the software level.

Installation:

# cd /usr/local/src
# wget http://www.inetbase.com/scripts/ddos/install.sh
# chmod 0700 install.sh
# ./install.sh

When the installation is done you will see something like this:

Installation has completed. Config file is at /usr/local/ddos/ddos.conf
Please send in your comments and/or suggestions to email@vsnl.com

Edit the configuration file depending on your requirements:

# nano /usr/local/ddos/ddos.conf

You may also want to white list your IP address:

nano /usr/local/ddos/ignore.ip.list

Now it is a time to run (D)DoS Deflate:

/usr/local/ddos/ddos.sh -c

Uninstallation :

If you want to uninstall DDOS Deflate then you can use below steps :

# cd /usr/local/src
# wget http://www.inetbase.com/scripts/ddos/uninstall.ddos
# chmod 0700 uninstall.ddos
# ./uninstall.ddos
